Hi. My name is Savannah Cooks. I major in English and Communications here at Carthage, and these are my five favorite things. My first favorite thing here at Carthage is the English department. I love the English department because it feels like a big community. I feel very comfortable there. They make me really want to be at Carthage, because everyone there, the professors and the students, are all very inspiring. They all make me confident within my writing and just my English skills in general, the department feels like a big community, and it's just wonderful. I just love it so much. My second favorite thing here Carthage is the inclusion Carthage has a lot of student organizations and events that make people of color here feel wanted and valued. I really like that, because as a person of color, it makes me feel like I actually have a part here within the college community. My third favorite thing at Carthage is the interactive classes. Instead of sitting through a long, drained lesson, you actually get out and explore the world and get hands on experience as a way of learning. My fourth favorite thing at Carthage are the on campus jobs. So far, worked two on campus jobs, and I really like working on campus jobs, because it makes me feel like I'm a part of the community. But also I like interacting with the students, the faculty, the alumni, the parents, just everyone in the Carthage family. My fifth favorite thing at Carthage is the campus beauty. I really love the atmosphere of the campus and walking up and down Campus Drive throughout all four seasons, because it's just really beautiful. And you get the lake, you get the trees, and they keep up the maintenance of the ground, so it's really inspiring to, like, walk through campus, drive before classes after classes, or just to chill out by the lake or something. Thanks for watching. My name is Savannah Cooks, and these were my five favorite things at Carthage.
