Fine Arts at Carthage

The arts are thriving at Carthage.

Thriving in our classrooms, where students are guided toward excellence in studio art, music, theatre, dance, and graphic design.

Thriving on our stages, where internationally renowned playwrights and musicians collaborate with students for performances and world premieres.

Thriving in our galleries, where established and emerging artists show their work throughout the year. Students, families, and the community are invited to explore our rich academic and artistic offerings.

Our facilities include six naturally lit art studios; a state-of-the-art computer graphics and electronic music laboratory; the magnificent Fritsch Memorial Organ in A. F. Siebert Chapel; a flexible recital hall and art gallery; the Wartburg and Studio Theatres; and music teaching studios, ensemble rooms and practice rooms. A. F. Siebert Chapel is an outstanding concert hall, and Hedberg Library includes modern production, editing, and broadcasting facilities appropriate for digital media.

Our faculty possess degrees from distinguished graduate programs, as well as broad professional experience and recognition in the art communities of Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and London. These scholars and artists have assembled at Carthage because they love to teach and work directly with students.
