Living On Campus
Carthage is a residential college at its core, and that means more than having a place to sleep. We believe there’s plenty to learn from roommates, floormates, and simply learning to live on your own.
Traditional Housing: First-year residential students typically live in one of our four traditional residence halls, which primarily offer two-person rooms and communal bathrooms. Those halls are Denhart, Johnson, Madrigrano, and Tarble (all-female hall).
Suite-Style Housing: Returning students (sophomores and above) can request one of our newer options, which feature suites with private bathrooms for two or four students. Those halls are the Oaks Village (six buildings) and The Tower.
Students who live within 30 miles or meet other criteria can opt out of Carthage housing. Commuters still get much of the full college experience by using the facilities, joining clubs, and having a meal plan.

Hello, my name is Melissa Schmidt and I'm going to be showing you around the residence halls of Carthage College. Let's get started!
The first stop today is the Tower. To get into the residence halls, you have to use your student ID to scan in-- keeps us safe. The Tower is the newest and tallest building on campus offering some amazing views.
Down here is a really cool common area where we have student events and different study nooks. The big floors of the Tower offer many different lounges and kitchens for all students to utilize. Most of the students are upperclassmen in this residence hall and it is suite-style so it's two doubles with a shared bathroom.
Now we're at the Oaks Village which offers more suite-style living let's go check out a room. This is my friend Marielle and Bri's room and as you can see with their individual spaces, they can cater it to their own personality.
Most of you are incoming freshmen which means that you will probably be in a traditional hall like Madrigrano. All traditional halls are co-ed with the exception of one female hall and they're all usually doubles with some select singles.
I lived my freshman year in a traditional dorm because it was an easy way to make friends and I'm still close with them today. Hey Nicholas! If you're hungry you can find many different dining options near the residence halls such as the Caf or the Student Union where you can find more.
There are many amenities for students to enjoy on campus such as beach volleyball courts, the lake, and the TARC which is our Student Recreation Center.
