Meet Andrew, an English and Studio Art double-major.

In this video, Andrew shares his favorite things about Carthage, which include Carthage’s small classes, abundance of on-campus activities, and the well-rounded education he gets from his liberal arts education.

My name is Andrew Coletti. I'm a senior here at Carthage College. My two majors are English with an emphasis on Creative Writing and Studio Art. My first favorite thing about Carthage College is probably the campus size. It's a very small campus. And the part I love about that is you can get to know everyone on campus-- if you want to. And that's a really cool thing because it allows you to connect with a lot of different people that have a different viewpoint from what you might have. My second favorite thing is very related to the first thing. I love how small all of our classes are. We have a very low faculty ratio so you can get a really intimate feel with your professors. All the professors that I've have really cared about my development, and they've been super helpful in helping me progress-- personally and professionally. My third favorite thing about Carthage is the students. The other people that you meet on campus are really great. For my first two or three years, it was hard for me to meet people because I commuted. I still commute, but I've learned that pushing myself out of my comfort zone, I've met a lot of people that I really care about and who are now my closest friends. So my fourth favorite thing about Carthage, we are not in a big city, if you didn't know, Kenosha is not a big city, we're about 100,000 people. But the upside of that is Carthage puts on a lot of activities for students to take part in. So every weekend, even all throughout the week, there's always something that students can go to if they feel like they want to meet new people, try out new clubs, experience new hobbies. There's always a club for that there's always a place to meet new people. The best part about that is there's always something for you and whatever your interests are. My fifth favorite thing about Carthage is that we're a liberal arts college. So what that means is you'll get a lot of education from the classics texts that were written anywhere from 1000s of years ago-- to the last 200 years. That'll give you a foundation of understanding of human history, the best colleges and universities throughout the world are liberal arts schools. For this reason that you have this foundation of understanding to challenge the way you think about the world. These are my five favorite things about Carthage College.
