Carthage in Chicago is a semester-long program that lets Carthage students take courses, complete a major academic project, hold an internship, and participate in weekend excursions and activities — all while living in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.
Students live in HI-Chicago near the Loop, and intern at such companies as CAIR Chicago, Webitects, The Onion, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, LL.M Law Group, and NYCH Art Gallery. They take courses on topics including fine arts, politics, and history. Course material is supplemented with trips to museums, concerts, and restaurants.
“I am learning so many new skills, and my company has a lot of connections with the booming tech scene in Chicago,” said Morgan Young ’17, who spent a semester as a software engineering intern for Webitects.
“I love that I’ve been able to meet and interact with so many new people with many different backgrounds and stories,” said Aliyah Caraballo ’17, who spent a semester researching the Chicago news media.
